I just now posted this on the anti gay board or whatever it's called, I think it's actually one of the most interesting things I've seen. I kinda wanna see what everyone has to say about it. I wanna see if you agree with me that it makes a good clear point.
A Reverse Questionnaire

--DEVELOPED BY MARTIN ROCHLIN, PH.D.
I think I will play devils advocate here, and answer these as I would when I was a fundamentalist.
* What do you think caused your heterosexuality?
Heterosexuality is not caused it's perfectly made by god. It says in the bible, man should not lay with man as he does a woman.
* When and how did you decide you were heterosexual?
Wrong again! Heterosexuality is from god, homosexuality is from Satan.
* Is it possible that heterosexuality is just a phase you may grow out of?
No because it was created by god. Homosexuality is from Satan and you must reject his ways or burn in hell for ever.
* Is it possible your heterosexuality stems from a neurotic fear of others of the same sex?
Is it possible your fear of jesus stems from your neurotic fear of morals and the word of god?
* If you've never slept with someone of the same sex, is it possible that all you need is a good same-sex lover?
That is just gross. God created Adam and eve not Adam and Steve. no true Christian would ever partake is such despicable behavior. I will pray for your soul for trying to get others into your sinful ways.
* To whom have you disclosed your heterosexual tendencies? How did they react?
We don't disclose our "tendencies" this is how god created us, man and woman.
* Why do heterosexuals place so much emphasis on sex?
God wants us to procreate, we can't do that without sex. I would love to see gays make a baby, oh wait you can't because God made sex for man and woman.
* Why do heterosexuals feel compelled to seduce others into their lifestyle?
Why do gays want to turn our children queer? Why do gays want to control the media? they live in sin and are afraid to come to jesus so he can heal them of their illness.
* Why do you insist on flaunting your heterosexuality? Why can't you just he who you are and keep quiet about it?
We don't
* Studies show that more than 95 percent of child molesters are heterosexual. Do you consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexual teachers?
This is an outright lie you gay lovers like to confuse people with. Everyone knows that a gay person will touch little boys before a straight man will.
* With all the social support marriage receives, the divorce rate is still 50 percent. Why are there so few stable relationships among heterosexuals?
Many of these are based in lust and not in gods true love.
* Heterosexuals are noted for adhering to narrowly restricted, stereotyped sex roles. Why do you cling to such an unhealthy form of role playing?
Because god said the woman is to be submissive to the husband, and since gods word is perfect then that's how it should be.
* Looking at the news media, there seem to he so few happy heterosexuals.
Yes, and I pray for those peoples salvation everyday. if more people turned to jesus then they wouldn't be so miserable. atheists I'm looking at you.
* Techniques have been developed that might enable you to change. Have you considered aversion therapy?
Homosexuals are the ones that need to change since the bible says they are wrong then they must be.
* Why do you make a point of attributing heterosexuality to famous people? Is it to justify your own heterosexuality?
It's a well known fact that the best actors, actresses and musicians are NOT gay.
* Considering the menace of hunger and overpopulation, can the human race survive if everyone were heterosexual like yourself?
That will never happen since the judgment is so close at hand. Which I fear you will not pass.
* The group with the fastest-growing number of AIDS cases is heterosexual. Shouldn't we prohibit sex between heterosexuals?
Gays started aids by having sex with a monkey. If people only had sex the way god intended there wouldn't be aids.
Okay I have officially made myself want to throw up now.
Wow, that was awesome.
wow! i love this! it's great! it really makes you think. thanks for posting it, jessie!
Jessie, thanks for posting this. it's nice to see it in a different light and turn the tables, so to speak. Dracula, you're awesome! that just made my day.
I doubt the back-and-forth bashing tecniques borrowed from the battle-of-the-sexes types helps homosexuals or anyone else. But here are my answers
* What do you think caused your heterosexuality?
I don't know: biology?
* When and how did you decide you were heterosexual?
I haven't decided anything biological from hair color, to lack of optic nerves, to height, and so forth.
* Is it possible that heterosexuality is just a phase you may grow out of?
Only if I am capable of pupating and metamorphizing somehow.
* Is it possible your heterosexuality stems from a neurotic fear of others of the same sex?
This question assumes that I have no same-sex friends, coworkers, and acquaintances. Not all relationships are sexual, or even potentially so.
* If you've never slept with someone of the same sex, is it possible that all you need is a good same-sex lover?
This question assumes I have to experience every type of sex option before certain biochemical processes kick in to form at least the physical component of attraction. Also it assumes I could somehow become sexually attracted to the same sex at will: an option I personally find as equally revolting as attempting to hump an appliance or mate with some non-human life form.
* To whom have you disclosed your heterosexual tendencies? How did they react?
What heterosexual tendencies? And what manner of disclosure are you speaking of? I'm not an old prude, but haven't ever disclosed intimate matters online.
* Why do heterosexuals place so much emphasis on sex?
Most humans routinely engage in sexual activity many times per year, not just once during a mating season, and that does place a rather high emphasis on sex. Even the Victorians, by modern standards, placed an enormous emphasis on sex, only theirs was the preoccupation with prohibitions and playing the peeping tom / moral guardian. The supposedly most sexually restrictive atmosphere - the Muslim world of the Middle East, turns out more Google searches on pornography than anywhere else. Us Western, allegedly sexually enlightened types, tend to turn up the most search results on words like burrito or spaghetti.
* Why do heterosexuals feel compelled to seduce others into their lifestyle?
Seduction is a pretty complex process to put into a sixth-grade-reading-level survey. Since humans communicate sexually the same way they communicate about everything else, it stands to reason one would do so to attract a potential mate verbally and using body language, among other things.
* Why do you insist on flaunting your heterosexuality? Why can't you just he who you are and keep quiet about it?
Define 'flaunt'. Define 'just be who you are', and define 'be quiet about it', because neither homosexuals nor heterosexuals can accurately answer this question without something other than vague, nonfalsifiable phrases. For sake of this survey I'll answer each phrase:
Flaunt: By middle-eastern Muslim or Victorian standards, I flaunt my sexuality because I am not a middle-Eastern muslim, nor am I living in the Victorian era.
'Be who I am': An idiom for something entirely nonfalsifiable, but let's pretend the expression 'be who you are' actually makes sense: I am in fact, "being who I am", because if I wasn't, I would be something different.
Keep quiet about it: About what, exactly? Certainly, if one over-pronounces one aspect of their personality in irrelevant contexts, e.g. 'I'm blind, I'm straight, I'm white, I'm a middle-aged father, it can certainly come off as tiresome at best, annoying / over the top at worst.
But to state clearly one's intentions, or nonintentions, is often seen as forthright or honest: the opposite being untrustworthy and rather a cheat. For example, if among single people at a mixer, I'm quite likely to bring up the fact I'm married, not as a flaunt or as an assumption I'm material someone wants, but because failure to do so could raise understandable questions. This is extremely common behavior for humans, not just sexually, but in a ton of areas.
* Studies show that more than 95 percent of child molesters are heterosexual. Do you consider it safe to expose your children to heterosexual teachers?
Most people are heterosexual, so most molesters are probably heterosexual. You failed to statistically describe the number of teachers who are also molesters. Also, pedophilia and rape are not so much about sex as they are about power and control. Put another way, a breaking-and-entering robbery is not so much about breaking glass as it is about violating your space, stealing your property, and probably assuming your identity.
* With all the social support marriage receives, the divorce rate is still 50 percent. Why are there so few stable relationships among heterosexuals?
Humans are not very stable creatures, whether you're talking modern divorce rates and philanderies or past mistresses and harems. Humans aren't really very stable creatures in a lot of other areas, so why sexual relationships would be any different is a mystery to me.
* Heterosexuals are noted for adhering to narrowly restricted, stereotyped sex roles. Why do you cling to such an unhealthy form of role playing?
Noted by whom? And your question assumes that I have narrowly restricted ideas, and engage in role play. But let's pretend this is actually a question and not a foregone conclusion: Every human being fits into several roles at once, which define behaviors, characteristics, etc. People are at once parents, children, spouses, siblings, coworkers, managers, and trainees. To adapt to, and create, such roles is uniquely human. As an engineer, I may play a far more restrictive role, if you will, than I do as a spouse. Nonconformists play the role of nonconformist, sometimes to an extreme, while most humans simply engage in things they are striving for, with or without restrictions.
* Looking at the news media, there seem to he so few happy heterosexuals.
Happy people are shown in advertisements, not the news.
* Techniques have been developed that might enable you to change. Have you considered aversion therapy?
Provided I wanted to avert from something at $100 / hour, I would research it first, which is beyond the scope of a simplistic survey.
* Why do you make a point of attributing heterosexuality to famous people? Is it to justify your own heterosexuality?
Define attribution in this context. Your question is absurdly vague and without any frame of reference. While it has serious leaps to conclusions, it seems to say little about human sexuality of any sort.
* Considering the menace of hunger and overpopulation, can the human race survive if everyone were heterosexual like yourself?
Contrary to popular belief, there is enough food and resources to go around. But human beings are not entirely species-aware. Humans are very tribal in nature, and very resource-protective. In other words, humans are consuming, ravenous machines, whose entire aim is the guarding of one's resources and the acquisition of more resources. It's in every aspect of human nature from every religion to every political system: those who control the most resources gain the most respect, access to gods, and a combination of envy and adoration by the masses. That is why people starve.
With modern science, homosexuals are procreating using sperm and eggs artificially, the same way some heterosexuals procreate, using medical intervention. Humans will populate like any other species, or they would have died out.
* The group with the fastest-growing number of AIDS cases is heterosexual. Shouldn't we prohibit sex between heterosexuals?
AIDS is a sexually transmitted disease. As such, most of the population being heterosexual, it stands to reason the fastest growing population with AIDS would be heterosexuals.
And as follow up, I will say it's likely anyone of any sexual orientation operating outside of the political sphere could come up with similar responses.
Yes, but I like this because, in my opinion anyway, it kind of shows how homosexuals feel when asked these types of questions. I think it has a good message in there.
It just looks like an equal opposite to the other survey. I couldn't have answered that one because I happen to fall in to the majority of the population in this way: I'm heterosexual. The survey is less about sexuals than it is about foregone conclusions, being silly, and that strange new hybridization of religion, pseudoscience and politics.
Both surveys are precisely the absolute value of one another.
Quite agree with leo, many of the questions seemed to jump to asertions. For example, I'm not sure attained the connection between fame and your choice of sexual orientation. But certainly I think that homosexuals are aloud to express their feelings for one another. And that a gay is just likely to be accused of rape as a straight, and that this is often attributed to mental instability or violent tendencies not sexual orientation. but hey, it made me smile and there was one or two reasonably vallid points.
I think these are one of those wishy washy questionaires that are designed to make you feel better about yourself. they serve no purpose and are about as scientific as the flat world theory. They are meant to be a feel good fix, when in reality they don't do anything.
Asking yourself these questions won't make you see how a homosexual feels, most of the facts in them are wrong anyway. They try to make you see how it is to be in there shoes, but it doesn't give you a single reason why you should change whatever opinion you had of homosexuality beforehand.
True, I can see how those who are already antigay wouldn't be any more likely to change their views by looking at this. It is, however, interesting to look at it and wonder, if you're a homosexual, why you're being asked so many seemingly irrelavant questions.
Unfortunately, any minority gets asked irrelevant questions. Look at the ones we get as blind people. I'm not trying to turn this into a blindness discussion, only saying that minorities get asked questions that the general populace would never dream of asking the majority. It sucks, but it's reality. Also, many of these questions are based purely on stereotypes. Like others have said, I can't say I see much point to this.
Rob, now how did you come up with your answers? I mean if I didn't know better I'd think you were a preacher. Lol.
I used to be a fundamentalist Christian.
Yep that's right I was one of those pricks.
Alicia is absolutely right. Humans treat all minorities this way,, and in every case come up with cock-eyed reasons both religious and secular to do so.
Wonder if it's even technically possible for many to learn the underlying principles and break out of it? Or will it just be an endless chase to make one or another group fashionable to support until everyone is a minority and then minorities done away with.
This isn't necessarily supposed to be scientific, but more of a throw your question back at you type thing. Like I'm friends with a lesbian couple and one of my friends, who's not homophobic but just ignorant, told them that he'd like to get them in a threesome. They said no and said it was slightly disgusting to them, and he flipped out and said they should be "greatful" or complimented that he wanted to. He asked one of them "How long have you been a lesbian?" She said, "How long have you been straight?" He asked, "Well have you ever even been with a man? I mean, how do you know you're this way?" And she said, "Well have you ever been with a man? I mean, how do you know?"
So basically, it shuts them up. lol, I just thought it was kinda cool. And btw, gays aren't a minority, totally gay people are just as common as totally straight people. The only reason they seem like a minority is because they hide themselves, but there's as many gays as straights, and then more bisexuals than either. That's the truth of it and this makes homophobes feel dumb. lol
Jessie
True enough.
lmfao, this is pretty awesome
my only comment post 2 you make me laugh, post 6 too many big words roflmao also made me laugh.
